Purchased the SE7452B Base Station (w additional handset) and I also bought a 3rd separate SE7450 handset back in Nov 2007. Over the course of 2 years all three handsets failed for same reason at one point in time. 1st handset failed after about 6 months, 2nd failed after about 18 months and third after 24 months. Each time the problem was the same. The handset was no longer registered to the base unit and it was impossible to unregister or re-register no matter what was tried (new batteries, reset, ...). Worked with Philips customer service to try and restore registration but was not possible. Each time Philips sent me a new handset. So far none of the new handsets have failed but there is definitely a serial defect with this model. Whether this is related to a manufacturing or component defect that has now been corrected is unknown. Philips would not comment on the serial nature of my defects. BUYER BEWARE!

I got these phones about 1 1/2yrs ago i ended up giving them away. They looked good had a lot of great features but the one thing i couldnt get around was i could pull a handset off the base after a 12hr chrg session and within 45mins it would be beeping at me that it was dying and by 50mins of stright talking it was dead. Worst phones ive ever had as far as battery life goes. So if you dont hold long conversations and/or dont care about these phones then they are for you. But if at any point and time would like or think you may get into a 1hr+ converstaion then get something else.

We've had this phone for two years now and we just cannot recommend this to anyone - right from the start we questionned the quality of this phone. Call display is horrible - more times than not, we simply get "new" to tell us that it may be a new number to the home - however we'd like to see the actual number and/or name and after two years, we are still getting this display for numbers that are not new to the home. The sound is good overall, particularly for someone like myself who is hearing impaired. However the phone does not stay charged for a length of time that you would expect. The second phone does not ring 3/4 of the time and so it is useless to us having it in the second location and at times, that second phone will not dial out either. We likely should have returned the phones early on, however we thought that we'd continue to try and make the phones work for us and perhaps we needed to adjust to a new system. The answering machine part of the phone system has been wonderful however. Again, very nice lookiing phones, however not terribly useful as a phone system, and we will be looking to purchase another set down the road.

I bought this phone because it boasted of increased sound clarity. I didn't find this to be the case. A couple of friends thought the voice sounded a little "echo-y" on their end. The speaker phone function is ordinary. It's a pretty and streamlined phone, but ringtones are limited, it is too many steps to add numbers to the phonebook, and it overall is just of average quality. Not bad, but nothing that justifies the higher price. The phone I switched to is a Panasonic, and it's a better phone in my opinion at a lower price. Especially the feature of a caller ID announcement. I find it very useful if I'm in another room or am cooking or something to know without looking at the phone itself if it's a call I have to answer at that moment or someone I can call back in a minute or two.
