My husband and I looked in stores and internet research. But the best deal we could not find was to Amazon-networking site. They just what we were looking and reasonably priced. It will definitely be ordering a 3 phone in the future. sound quality, aesthetics, ease of use. Really enjoy them!

Just got this phone and set it up, so I can't really say yet how it will function as a phone. It looks like it will be fine ...
... Except that it would have been good to know that you can't use a headset with it. The handsets have no place to plug a headset in. (I like to wear a headset and slip the handset into a pocket, to be able to talk hands-free.) As far as I can tell (and if anybody knows different, please reply and let me know) you can't do that with this phone system. Since my prior cordless phone, which was ancient and cheap, had such a feature, I figured all cordless phones did.
Oh, well. I see some people saying here that the speakerphone feature is pretty good. Maybe I can use that, though it's not what I'd prefer.

Pluses:
1) Good clarity with the regular ear piece and mic.
2) Good buttons, lighting, features.
3) No static or interference with wireless network.
Complaints:
1) Unplugging the main base unit results in loss of the time/date setting on both phones every time.
2) While the phone directory entries do automatically transfer from one unit to the next (and retained after unplugging the base units), there is no way to upload/download contact info with computer management software. Well, with a max of only 50 entries maybe they think it isn't needed.
3) After using these for only a couple weeks, the batteries do not seem to fully charge. The battery indicator only maxes at 3 bars, then shows 2 bars after pressing any button on the phones. This is after the initial long charge per the instructions and leaving the phones in the bases. We have also tried draining them completely, but the fully charge does not seem to come back. I'll try to get new batteries from VTech and if they don't provide those then return the phones to Buy.com (paid through Amazon).
4) Wall mounting is only available with the main base unit and too awkward.
5) Using the speakerphone close or far, people seem to have some difficulty catching what we are saying.
Overall:
For the price (~$35) for 2 phones, it seems like a good deal for what you get, though our battery experience will dictate if we keep these.
