Uniden DXAI8560-2 Reviews (All-Reviews)

Phone calls ( Tokyo Japan )
Not a great phone, but acceptable for use in Japan because it's 5.8GHz. Cons- Ringer volume is not adjustable on second handset, I frequently hang up on callers when I rest my chin against the handset. Pros- cheap, 2 handsets, easy set up. I would recommend looking for another phone.

Guess I should have known with the low price that this phone would be short on quality/features. I have had pretty favorable experience with the Uniden brand so I figured why not go for a deal. Bad idea. This phone is really horrible and the quality is just as bad. The satelite cradle has a bad wire in the base so you have to rig it to make it contact with the handset, in order for it to work. But this work-around doesn't last so you constantly lose connection and/or the battery charge.
One other super-annoying issue is that neither handset has a mute button or function. This becomes a major problem when I'm on a conference call or using the speaker function because you cannot easily slip in and out of talking mode.
Bottom line on this model: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Uniden DXAI8560-2 5.8 GHz Needed to buy 2 handsets, they work well and the sound quality is much better than the previous ones that I had.

This is the worst phone I've ever owned. I was about to just get rid of my land line because of this phone. This phone has minimal range. It frequently drops calls much worse than any cell phone! I pity the guy who gave a review and talked about doing conference calls with this phone. He fortunately submitted a followup to his review agreeing that this phone is awful. I would never use this phone for an important phone call. I finally purchased a Panasonic KX-TGA740 and am VERY happy.

Extreme static when I could get the phones to turn on or "connect." Missed a lot of calls because the phone would NOT turn on when it was too close to the base. You can not use both handsets at once, so if you need to switch handsets to continue a call on another handset, you're out of luck. Broken dial tone and slower than molases dialing! Bad speaker in one handset sounding like it was behind the key pad instead of the earpiece, sounded like talking into a plastic box. This also amplified the sound allowing both sides of the conversation to be heard by others.
